Your Role:

Pathlight is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Plumbing Service Advisor. As a Plumbing Service Advisor, you will be responsible for serving as a technical and subject matter expert for the maintenance department, providing residential, Plumbing scope and pricing expertise with courteous customer support and service.

The Plumbing Service Advisor will conduct proposal scope and pricing reviews, serving as our trade specific subject matter expert for Plumbing work orders/service calls, with a focus on controlling maintenance and repair expenses. In addition, they will serve as a point of contact for vendor onsite approvals, source, and own subsequent bids if necessary, and provide direction with all repair decisions for the homeowner of approximately 20,000 single-family rental properties. This is an office position with no required time in the field. If you have prior experience as a Plumbing field installer, service technician or trainer, this is an excellent opportunity to transition your expertise into a more office-based role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key point of contact for trade subject matter, resolving issues with vendors as necessary related to scoping and pricing.
  • Serve as a technical and subject matter expert resource for the department and leadership, vendors/partners, and residents, while, providing Plumbing equipment expertise with courteous customer support and service.
  • Own all in-house and outside vendor proposal decision making.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with residents and vendors.
  • Review and execute all proposal decision making on maintenance work order requests, dispatch and assign contractors as required to ensure scope and pricing of suggested work are appropriate.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of internal initiatives and special projects.
  • Proactively resolve resident/ vendor issues, driving all issues towards resolution and escalating issues in a timely manner when necessary.
  • Provide support to maintenance specialist peers and legal team representatives as required.
  • Provide technical support/assistance troubleshooting product and service issues through various forms of communication platforms.
  • Handle technical calls from contractors and residents as well as work with manufacturers regarding warranties if applicable.
  • Create training guides/ materials for internal associates.
  • Foster a positive work environment and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Maintain awareness of trade/industry developments and seeks opportunities for continuous process improvement.
  • Identifies, performs, and coordinates team Case Studies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SMS Assist regarding all onsite approvals when necessary or in on-call rotations.
  • Facilitate and negotiate scope and pricing alignment with vendors.
  • Efficiently own all communication with vendors relating to work order scopes/ change orders and decisions.
  • Participate in weekly rotating on-call/ after-hours availability schedules.
  • Identify and communicate with Vendor Mgmt. team on vendor quality, service issues, sourcing needs, vendor procurement coverage, trade capacities.
  • Coordinate with vendors for updates on scheduling, estimates, and repair completion timeframes on any subsequent proposal request.
  • Communicate updates with the resident regarding work order schedule and completion as deemed necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, contractors, and homeowners via email, phone, and computer software/technology.
  • Provides liaison support for vendors as needed as it pertains to the maintenance division.
  • Nurture’s maintenance services and vendor relationships to meet or exceed strategic department goals and objectives.
  • Attend scheduled mentoring and coaching sessions and training classes as assigned, as well as regular meetings on policy, process, procedures, KPI monitoring, and budget tracking with Upper Management.
  • Ensure confidentiality of internal and external data.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Conduct all business under company policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Relevant trade qualification: Degree/ License from an accredited technical school or certificate of completion from Plumbing technical courses and 5+ years of hands-on Plumbing experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience, required.
  • 5 + years of experience in relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience in solving complex trade-related technical issues.
  • Understanding of the installation and service of residential Plumbing practices with a proven history of quality installations with respect to renovations, remodelling, new construction, service, etc.
  • SME in a specific relevant trade: Plumbing field service, technical support, or certified trainer experience is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and handle deadlines.
  • A positive attitude, enthusiasm, and ambition for success.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to learn quickly.
  • Willing to work in office
  • High-level customer service and satisfaction.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Skill Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize projects, tasks, and proven quick ability to learn and train on new software.
  • Takes initiative manages time efficiently, and is capable of working independently and with a team while adapting to change.
  • Possess strong negotiating, customer service, organizational, & time mgmt. skills with a demonstrated passion for success and a service mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability for effectively moving projects to resolution and completion.
  • Expert verbal and written language proficiency with proficiency skill level in MS applications, and virtual meeting tools, required.
  • Enthusiastic, Dynamic, Flexible, High-Level Organization, Creative problem-solving, and Collaborative abilities.
  • Demonstrates and promotes high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational and government standards.
  • Demonstrates an organized and results-oriented approach, and motivation to perform without extensive direction.

  • Proven ability to use a creative, positive solution-oriented approach to address problems.
  • Ability to build PowerPoint presentations and coordinate, facilitate, and lead in-person and remote training sessions, as needed.
